"The building itself felt really dirty but the staff were so rude. Wouldn’t let us briefly log on to the wifi (no signal up there and it was urgent) and just unwelcoming."

"The bread here is fabulous, especially her sourdough. All hand baked on the grounds. The café has a nice atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. In recent years they have increased their vegan offers and usually have a small selection of very delicious sandwiches and cakes available."

"Wonderful day trip from York! We rented 3 bikes: 2 mountain bikes 1 e-bike for the non-cyclist among us (me). The Swale Trail was lovely and a very pleasant ride along the river and past green pastures. On the way back, we decided to stick to the road, as it was smoother and had barely any traffic, plus it gave us a different vantage point. It was a bit of an effort to get to the top of the hill, but then it was smooth sailing all the way back down into town. The best thing about the rental experience, though, was the proprietor. He's the type of person you can instantly sense is a caring and decent human being. He was pleasant, helpful, and graciously accommodating of us making last-minute changes. Truly a pleasure!"
