"Very busy outside and a queue at the bar so I almost went elsewhere, anyway noticed the inside dining area was nearly empty. We took a table, browsed the menu , order taken and drinks delivered. Food came along shortly afterwards. So no queuing , and prompt service. The food was better than I had expected. We enjoyed Fish pie and Crab burger mains and just finished off with a coffee and mini Bakewell. I do like an Almond slice."

"A lovely experience! I really enjoyed the decor of this restaurant and the staff were very friendly and helpful! I ordered Pad Thai with chicken and the Thai-namite prawns. The Pad Thai was cooked incredibly well and served very authenticly. Additionally, the Thai-namite prawns were some of the best battered prawns I've had in a long time!! The price is rather expensive, but admittedly most Thai restaurants are. I will certainly be returning here again!"

"We had booked a table before the arrival. they had a mustel mind this day boy-oh-boy, it was great. we ordered 2 more rounds. try the mustels with Thai curry. also the oysters were good. we also tried the baked oysters, but it wasn't so great, so tequila was oyster. for the net, had spiced the pan-fried salmon fillet with chili oil pesto and it was great. overall a very good experience would definitely recommend."

"They have excell for years, best chippy chips in pompey, unless they prefer the kebab shop style chips or frozen chips when they then go elsewhere and leave excell no bad rating only because they do not their own way. I have ordered from other chippies and they either constantly change their sausage supplier, I had some terrible tasting battered sausages elsewhere, but excell’s were always consistently delicious. I like my broken cod crispy if you like your soggy, then nowhere. excell are quite generous, their chips are rustic because they are fresh cut chips, in contrast to most chippies that use frozen chips. well earned 5 stars, especially for resistance. must admit as soon as my chips were not on their usual standard, but it was late in the evening and only once so no big thing."
