"My wife and I arrived without reservation, we were lucky to get a table because there were a lot of people. We both chose a scallop dish, but different, each accompanied by pasta. Honestly, no taste, really bland... We reported it to the waitress who told us that they didn't put salt in the pasta for people with allergies.... It was honest of her, but we didn't smell it. garlic in my wife's dish nor the calvados flaming for mine. Super disappointed for dishes close to €25 each. The waitress offered us coffee on the house but we refused. I can only judge our scallop dishes, but what a shame not to cook this seafood with refinement."

"After visiting Bayeux on a quiet winter Monday, we went to Port en Bessin in search of a restaurant that wasn't a tourist trap. We were able to get the last non-reserved table at Fleur de sel for lunch, luckily on the first floor, with the view over the port. We each took the simple 3 course lunch menu for 20€. The mushroom and snail soup was excellent, the fish of the day (squid) was very nicely done, but the sides were dried out and uninspired, while my apple pie dessert was burnt. If those elements had have been done better, this would have been a 5 star lunch given the price. Finally while the server was clearly doing her best, she was overwhelmed. She forgot to bring us bread, when we asked we were given the dried out ends of another table's bread, and dessert took 20 minutes to bring out despite already being made."

"Do not be put off by the exterior, once inside we were made very welcome by a waiter who spoke good English. He took the time to explain each menu so that we knew exactly what we were getting. Food soon arrived and was very tasty, clean lates went back to the kitchen."
