Lasagna Recipe

Step 1: In a large skillet, brown the beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain any excess fat. In another skillet, cook the onions until translucent.

Step 2: Combine the beef and onions in a large saucepan and add tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, water, oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and a touch of sugar. Let it simmer over medium heat until it comes to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for an hour.

Step 3: While the sauce is simmering, mix together the cottage cheese, Parmesan, and egg until smooth. Set aside. Boil the pasta in lightly salted water until al dente.

Step 4: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a cup of sauce on the bottom. Layer with noodles, sauce, mozzarella, noodles, sauce, and the cottage cheese mixture. Top with remaining noodles and sauce.

Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, then sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
