"I just wanted to make a recommendation for an amazing minshuku that we stayed in the kiso valley. it is called koshinzuka and is close to tsumago. I had spent age groups trying to find a place to stay for our trip that could bring to my vegan lifestyle. I have sent many ryokan and minshiku by e-mail, and they all could not have vegan (or even vegetarian) diet. this place had a place for food intolerances on their booking form, so I was hopeful and am so glad that they had burst as it was incredible! the owners were amazing, and eating was all vegan and excellent. we had gohei mochi for dinner, made from walnuts the owners grew in their garden, and we were shown photos of the last harvested. the owner, masa san, spoke to us through every court and showed us photos from the history of the anwesen, which is over 100 years old. he taught us about local traditions and even sang folk songs after dinner. we hadn't asked. there is a bus stop right outside, and we wandered from here to tsumago, then continue to magome, get the bus back to tokio. I recommend it to a friend who has booked for april, and it was fully booked so that I very happy that we managed to stay as the only guests last week! it was ¥7,500 each for the night, including all food. please go!"
