"Passing through Nagano on our way to Yudanaka and didn’t have time to make a sit-down meal out of their famous sauce Katsudon. Got the Katsu Sandro which comes with a little sachet of mustard. Perfect if you’re in a hurry and want an easy lunch. Chicken cutlet is moist and juicy, albeit cold."

"We had an amazing experience here. A.I.R serves purely vegan degustations, created by guest chefs. Guest numbers are very limited (I think to 14), so early booking is recommended. Interestingly only 4 of the guests there the night we went were vegan. The food could be described as modern Japanese with a twist, delicious and beautifully presented, paired with local sakes and wines. Pricey but worth it! Don’t miss it!"

"The meat on the ramen was all stiff like a dried chicken breast meat. I don't know if the word salty would be even used to describe ramen cause I tend to enjoy the saltiness along with their flavor but this ramen was just plain salty."

"Kawabata is a classic Japanese set meal restaurant. Tonjiru (Stewed pork and veggies in Miso soup) is the speciality. Ramen noodles are also lovely. Quite large serve, also quick serve good for quick bite, inexpensive prices, seems smoking free all time all tables good one for bringing kids. A big parking lot is available. Cash only."
