I caught a few animals here on my weekend visit and was very impressed as I am always impressed by mikkeller products. they had a lot of beer varieties, so there was a lot to choose. I tried two chick brows, but they also had several collab beers in the offer. small menu in the first floor, but the hot dog was delicious and I enjoyed it. the 2nd etage offers table reservations when they try to go on a busy day. it is from a quiet side street in shibuya, so it is a good change of the tempos from normal hectic and the trubel. stop them and enjoy them here a few beers. Do not forget to pick up a few mikkeller tokyo branded items when they are a collector like me.
Beautiful craft beer in shibuya and cool relaxing atmosphere. quite busy in the weekends. but the glass size is somewhat smaller.
We went there on Saturday afternoon on 1st September 2018. It was our first and last visit. I really liked the bottled Mikkeller beer I’d bought online so I was looking forward to visiting this place. The first issue was the excessively loud music, which was also limited in its appeal; I’m fairly sure few customers there liked contemporary American R&B and another genre that I was unfamiliar with but no doubt niche. The styling was rather unique and pleasantly quirky downstairs but upstairs, including the stairs themselves, it seemed like they’d run out of ideas and money; an unfinished project, perhaps. The staff were moody and certainly not welcoming. The barmaid that served us was miserable. However, the main purpose was the beer, which was good but questionable in that my partner ordered a weizen that tasted like an IPA; it was definitely served from the correct tap so not sure what happened there. My porter was good but I’d question the claimed “pint” size glass. This is a common issue in Japan with no apparent rules on drink measures so I recommend asking to see the glass before placing your order. That said, I felt the beer was overpriced, especially as competition in the craft beer pub sector is rife these days in Tokyo so we can get much better value for money.
Great beer but severely overpriced in this location. Been to other Mikkeller locations in the world and got drunk without going broke
Mikkeller is great, the bar has a rotating menu of beer that often changes, so there is always something new from local or microbrows with many experimental materials on the menu to try. they also do eat, the hot dogs are amazing. the personal is also very friendly and the place is really welcoming!
