We were visiting from the US and went here for lunch on our first day. I don't think we were prepared for no English on the menu, but we had fun figuring out what to order. I ate a plate full of stuffed grape leaves (w/ meat in them) and my friend had a yummy creamy risotto. Both dished were good! There weren't a ton of other people when we arrived, but the place got busier while we were there. We enjoyed our meal an... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Dulceria:
bad service, they are simply not taking care of, the worst experience I had in a restaurant in Bocagrande. I tried to get a glass of water for 20 minutes and place wasn't even so busy. Food was not well prepared. Staff... aren't friendly my honest opinion is to avoid this place unless you're ready for a worsening View all feedback.
So I only came in here for desert but they had the best carrot cake! And I am picky about my carrot cake. The young lady who served me was very nice and friendly.
La Dulceria has some of the best food you will ever eat. The tahini and the Arabic cheesecake were my favorites this time. The juices are taste sensations! The flavors for everything are sublime-a lovely blend of Arabic and Columbian. This was my second time...eating at the restaurant and both times were excellent. We were treated like family. The atmosphere is convivial, the staff attentive, the courtyard peaceful. If you want an authentic Columbian experience eat at La Dulceria. It's where the Columbians eat!
I had a salad. Fresh, big and tasty. My friend had a sandwich and she loved it. It is a little bit pricey for a casual lunch in this city. We paid, for the two of us one hundred thousand pesos (usd 40 approx), but...the place is very nice and clean. I liked it!
The name of this small restaurant in Bocagrande area is totally misleading, as Dulceria stands for candy shop and there is not hint that it is a restaurant with one of the best arab food you can find in Cartagena. I got there the first...time in a rush like business lunch invited by a colleague from the city and got in love with such a wonderfully made food. They offer a lot of western dishes (sandwiches, pastas, sea food etc), but the diamonds are in the Arab food. As in other restaurants of its kind, they offer the basics of quibbes, tahines, babaganoush and so. But best try the marinated eggplant, the sfijas, or much better a couple of wonderful soaps, specially the Chacrile, made with a kind of yogurt and meat, absolutely delicious or the Ristahie (lentils, noodles and vegetables). In the sandwiches, definitely the arab sandwich or the arab hamburger. One the dessert time came I was so satisfied that didn 't want any, but my party went to the counter and selected from a variety of arab sweets, really good. Since I knew La Dulcería, has become one of my routine stops every time I go to Cartagena.
Only had a chance to dine for dinner, but had such a variety of healthy food and there is a lovely outdoor courtyard.
