The best pub I've been too for a long time, it's a hidden gem the atmosphere, the food is outstanding, the staff are fantastic they can't do enough for you so it's a place where you want to keep going back too. Wonderful discovery! An Inn in a very rural country town with a fine Restaurant and great Pub. Super friendly staff. Food was wonderful and the characters at the pub on a Saturday night made for the best experience. Perhaps the standing area at the bar can maybe only for 8-10 people but that was the best place to be. They have some other seating area in the bar area, but most of the people who want to talk to each who came separately all hang out in front of the bar. One of the ales they serve is made about 100 feet away. All natural and great tasting. I had some traditional starters for my dinner which were nice. They only had one room left when I booked it so O stayed in Cottage #2 which was way more space than I needed. Two bedrooms upstairs, a kitchen and separate living room downstairs plus backyard which one could certainly have a BBQ and a large field to perhaps play frisbee if the weather ever allowed it. I also learned the rector of the St. Michael’s church up the road in the early 1800’s was Jane Austen’s first cousin and she spent time in the town apparently using it as a backdrop for some parts in her book “Pride and Prejudice.” I hope to be back with my family and visit all the friends I made “in the middle of nowhere.” Rooms: Cottage great for the family.
