It was my first time and it definitely will not be my last! The server was so friendly and fast! She was very attentive throughout my meal without being overly attentive. What User doesn't like about Lone Star Diner Abilene:
The first time I went there the food was good. I tried today to take my boyfriend there to try it out and was interrogated about my medical exemption for not wearing a mask by the girl standing around in the front. A simple no would have been appropriate instead of all the questions. I try to support local businesses and I like the food here, but will definitely not go back. Save the grilling for the burgers. "Ordered a ham and cheese sub, there was VERY LITTLE ham, pretty sure no cheese, no pickles, no mayo, not much but a lot of lettuce. The bread was good, but not worth 10 dollars. I love subs, eat a lot of subway, but figured I'd give them a try, not sure I'll go back."

"Came in today and when we checked in the front area was quite busy. We were told maybe 20 minutes. The front area cleared out exceptionally quick as they would clean down tables and seat new parties faster than we had anticipated. We were seated fairly quickly and drinks came right behind. The staff is friendly and professional, as well as quick on their feet. Within 10 minutes we had our orders and appetizer order in and were able to enjoy the atmosphere. The booths are tall and give a nice place to converse and have a date. The larger middle area is perfect for larger party seating. The menus are decently extensive for a place that you could easily drive by and never notice. We ordered an appetizer of calamari, a Salad with Salmon, and a Seafood Platter. The food was amazing and prepared perfectly. Staff was friendly and on point.. Will recommend and will def come back again."

"The wife and I were not happy with the wait but the manager made us walk away satisfied. Our server was being monitored from a distance by her supervisor who handled the customer service issues and her performance gracefully. Our food had obviously sat in a window for a solid 20 min. The pasta was dehydrated and discolored. We asked for another portion of the pasta and it was delivered promptly. The mgr had a professional pep talk with his server and comped a portion of our meal. Cudos to the mgr. Wish I would have caught his name."
