"I’m going to sound like a w*nker for saying this, but I expected V Spot to be more like a restaurant than a takeaway. We rang up and booked, although I don’t think we needed to on this occasion. From the decent-sized menu my companion chose the chicken Hawaiian and we agreed on the Italian, and split a family size pizza between the two varieties. It was pretty good, with commercial vegan meats and cheese, and cut into small squares rather than slices, making it easier to eat. At $27 for a family-size meat pizza with $1.50 for the split, it was reasonable and in keeping with other pizza restaurants I’ve been to, which have large (smaller than family) pizzas in the low $20s. The ambience was lacking a bit though. There were also a few packaged vegan food products on sale, including some big-brand ice creams (of which we did buy one). This business is up for sale, so support it if you want the new owners to keep it vegan."

"What a shame! Such great yum cha but when the lady at the front of house is so rude, really puts you off. She rudely askd whethr thr was anythg else as she had to come back too many times. The only reason she had to return so many times was that she didnt take the time to receive our full order in one go. This is true for most waiters/waitresses there. They are quick to leave. In addition to her rude comments was her facial expressions. It was clear she was not happy to serve us. Of course this makes no sense when front of house is suppose to be the most welcoming. Some more professionalism, particularly from this lady, would be appreciated!"

"We visited Hispanic Mechanic for a family Birthday on a busy Friday night, four adults two kids. The adults opted for $49pp banquet whilst the kids opted for the kids menu.Pros:- The food was exceptional. - Great flavours, fresh produce and a great variety of options, all of which absolutely delicious (treat yourself to the tres leches it was amazing). We did not walk away from the banquet hungry at all.Cons: - The service was terrible. - We ordered food at just after 7pm and we were still eating at 1015pm, with a 50 minute wait on food in the middle of our banquet.- after speaking to the waitress about the kids menu and sizing of the soft tortillas she suggested we order one, and then additional later if the girls were still hungry. They were small so both girls ordered additional serves and waited 25 minutes for these to come out- The banquet didn't come out in order and was just a little disjointed (with such a delay), so we had to ask multiple times what we were eating and at times the wait staff didn't know- It was loud and the table was wide so we struggled to hear each other (book a stand alone table if possible we were on an elevated share table in the middle of room).The manager did come over after we let the waitress know of our disappointment at the wait. We were offered complimentary drinks but by that point we were hungry and tired. Overall the food was great, but the experience not so.NB. Despite all of this I would still go back for the desert because it really was THAT good."
