"This was our last evening meal in Crete, and it did not disappoint in the slightest. The food was excellent, the staff friendly, accommodating and generous with the little extras they offered. I think there's a real temptation to stick to seaside restaurants in the area, but Avli is better than many of them. The garden style setting is charming and really quaint. The tzatziki, potatoes, souvlaki, moussaka, and desserts were some of the best we had in Crete. I can't recommend it highly enough."

"It smells like a tourist scam: for example, fresh fish is €70 per kilo. The margin seems good for a creature caught by the house's boats a few kilometers away and therefore without too many intermediaries to inflate the prices.
