Shop Rite Deli - ALERT BAY

The deli is a good place to stop, if you are pressed for time. they have a variety of sandwiches, salads. They also have wings, buffalo bites, popcorn chicken. The chef salad is good.

This deli makes sandwiches and daily specials for lunch they have a breakfast on Sundays. They have many great lunch items as well

Although the menu is limited the cakes are excellent. There are really good salads in the chiller. The coffee is good and there are at least two different types on offer.

Shop Rite in Alert Bay has a little bit of everything, so it looks like they decided to put a little bit of deli and a little bit of a coffee shop at one end of the store, just past the appliances and lawn mowers. Good for them to put in a row of bars stools along the window facing the street and have a couple of local guys sit there to give the impression that it was a place to have coffee and treats. For the two of us, we found some baked goods that were okay to eat. However, for one pastry each, and two small regular coffees, we paid a bit over $16.00 which we felt was too much. And the coffees were cold. When we mentioned the cold coffee, the helper told us where the microwave was. No offer to freshen the coffee, but the helper wanted to know which pot was cold. She changed out the pot but did not offer any new coffee for us.Don't bother with this place.

Was happy to find a Deli in Alert Bay. We were able to stock up on deli items and fresh baked goods. A wide variety of take out sandwiches etc also available. All good and reasonably priced.
