Hainan chicken with rice and salad. The sauces (ginger and chili) make the dish savory. The rice is delicious. The chicken broth is ok. My nieces like the pizza and the plates are well served. Would come back View all feedback.
What Annette Tang doesn't like about Savoy:
Savoy has been my family’s go to place for Hainan chicken. It’s really gone downhill in everything. The price has gone up, the chicken portion decreased, and the flavor of the rice and sauce is bland. We got ours to go and the container was mostly rice in weight. The chicken is less than half of what they used to be. View all feedback.
After all these yes, still one of the best if not the best chicken rice in town. Dish are super simple but yummy! it's such a big step for them to now take credit card.
Best hainan chicken in town!! it’s a special place for me. Service is always prompt and friendly. One of my go-to comfort food places.
No drink refills menu , indoor and outdoor seating. Refills are at the wait service's discretion. I've been passing by this place since I was a little child, they have been open for well over 2 decades, so they're doing something right. Despite being land locked by their dining area that's smaller than my bedroom, they continue to have people who are willing to wait in line to order food...for good reason. They have incredibly great hinan chicken and Italian food! ? The most surprising aspect about this restaurant is that they have outstanding Italian food!!! Their chicken marinara pasta tastes perfect, and my favorite dish here. I believe they make their sauce from scratch, which enhances the quality and the flavor of the sauce, as well as the tender chicken. Since opening, they have expanded their dining area with outdoor seating. Depicted are: sausage marinara pasta, chicken marinara pasta, and something I forgot lol
If you are looking for Hainan chicken rice. This is the place.
Not the best neither it is the worst. It is decent and comparing it literally to Vancouver's hainan chicken, it is just ok. For sure if you are visiting LA, this is actually not that bad! Me and my friends do say that this is American Hainan Chicken, because it is sweet to the taste. But at the same time it is quite delicious for the price. But tbh, I know where the locals understand that this is a staple place to go for Hainan chicken as their price and their quality is just perfect. If you are visiting, feel free to come with a couple of your local friends and have an open mind! I did enjoy it a lot though. Literally a family owned place that has been opened for years and has created a fantastic Chinese community and it is a type of access of flavours for the Chinese immigrants, so I get it and understand it. They do have a huge outdoor seating, a place to park and a washroom now. All of those have been upgraded, so it is good to hear!! Anyways, if I do come back to LA, it will be a place I will come for some of my Hainan Chicken~!!
