Coffee is important and may cannot make it. The barista here made a good brew. We had the breakfast turkish and it was perfectly delicious. I would easily come back. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Piccolo's:
It appears that the chef has changed or lost his way and this is to the severe detriment of the diners experience. The coffee was cold, the eggs under cooked and waits were long. We had to send one meal back and no apology. What a pity, you came highly recommended, it appears that you have already left the building. View all feedback.
My partner and I decided we would go to Piccolo's for brunch, and we were greeted by a long line which was moving slowly. The only positive point about our experience was the waitress who took our orders she was very polite and seemed somewhat happy to be there. Once our order was placed, we struggled to find a table inside and away from the noisy coffee machine, which was staffed by a young man, possibly chained to the machine, due to his facial expressions and lack of enthusiasm. Once we finally found seating arrangements our food came first, well before our drinks, although the wait for the food was not substantial. My order was "big breakfast". The dish itself was reasonably presented although the cooking was horrendous. The hash browns were still frozen, the bread "toast" was stale and partially cooked also. They'd obviously spent all the cooking time on the bacon, as this was a polite shade of black and somehow still cold? The scrambled egg and mushroom were average and the sausage tasted as any cheap processed Coles sausage would. My partner ordered the pancakes, which were presented well, although for $15 I feel like our money could be better spent elsewhere. The $15 obviously didn't go in to purchasing maple (flavoured) syrup as this was rationed into one "shot" glass which was half full. The pancakes were smothered in whipped butter, unfortunately she was not a fan of the butter, and even a butter fiend individual would find the rationing well and truly over the top. The icing sugar was administrated to her standards. Halfway through completing our meals, we heard "drinks up" from the (not so) "over enthusiastic" barista and our drinks were served. The juices were served with copious amounts of ice, leaving a small amount of juice in the "jar". The juice itself tasted fresh and quite sweet. Although for $7.50 each, 15 ice cubes and 2 squeezes of an orange is a bit extreme. Overall our dining experience was far from desirable.
If you want a decent breakfast to start your day then look no further. Good value for money and many options available. I opted for the standard full fried brekky and was more than happy and content. The only thing i don't understand in restaurants anymore is how come they don't butter for you before placing the bacon and eggs on it? Now you have to rearrange your whole plate, butter your toast and then put everything back. This is not just Piccolo's by the way, seems to be a trend I can't comprehend. Anyway, this is a great place, friendly smiles and great food and coffee.
