A friend and I stayed one night, we went to the lakes to take a walk, after the walk we checked around 4 pm, the rooms are clean and spacious, with a good shower, the bed was a bit swollen (sweet) for my taste, but well, after our shower (not together) we went down the stairs to the bar to have a few drinks and to see the menu, the drinks are fresh. What acs1984 doesn't like about Hundith Hill:
We came here during the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme. We booked in advance which was good because they were turning people away when we got there. The restaurant area had the tables well spaced out. Unfortunately they got our order wrong. They brought out the order pad to show us they were right but what they had written wasn’t actually what we’d ordered so they must have miss heard what we said. The correct meal was... Went here today with family and friends and have to say that every single one of us enjoyed our meal. Everything was good and tasty and hot(tepid food is my BIG bugbear). 3 of us had roast Turkey, 1 had lamb and one cod all of which were delicious and at £17 for 3 courses plus coffee or tea it was very reasonable. We will be back

We visited this hotel today for Sunday lunch with our family to celebrate my birthday. The set lunch menu was quite extensive for each course and reasonably priced at £17 per head. There was a limited childrens menu available but each adult meal was available as a reduced portion for children. The service was excellent and the roast beef, which all the adults had, just melted in your mouth. We spoke to two ladies who went there every Sunday for lunch and I think that says it all. I would certainly recommend the restaurant in the Hundith as a place to visit.
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Hundith Hill recently and I would not recommend it to anyone. The service and attitude of the management staff really was shameful and disgusting. We were not given any details about how our day would go and how things would happen until we paid our deposit. As we had never planned a wedding before we didn 't realise the sort of things we should really of been asking. I feel like the wanted our money before they sat us down and explained things to us. Once finding out there was only one function room we could use and that we could not get into the room until 9.30 on the day of the wedding I expressed my concerns as too which they brushed off and completely ignored. My dream of decorating the venue myself was shattered. I had to leave it to them. I chose to bring in a friend to help me create the vision I had dreamed of to which they were not happy about. After this I felt like everything I asked for was a hassle to them and the attitude of the owner and a manager towards me was disgusting. Everytime I went for a meeting on my own I felt undermined and patronised by these same two people, but when other people came with me theit attitudes completely changed. The whole build up was nothing but stressful for me as they made everything hardwork. They do not put the bride and groom first and in no way do they try and do their upmost best to make sure the day goes exactly how they want, which is what I believe any wedding venue should do. Instead they do what suits them and what is convenient for them. Because of this we had many disagreements. On the day I wanted to get married outside. This was very important to me which they new but they tried every possible way too get me to change my mind, because it was easier for them. I pushed my heals in and waited to the very last minute to decide as I really wanted it to happen if it could but in the end the weather didn 't allow it so we had to change the plan. The manager came over to tell me it was raining and her attitude was disgusting. I was in the middle of getting my make-up done with my back to the door so I answered her saying it was hopefully just a shower and there was still time for it too change to which she stormed off without even replying to me. Being treated like this on what is supposed to me the most special day of your life is just awful. My friend went over to the room at one point to see how everything was going and she ended up having an argument with the owner!!!! She asked for some of the covered chairs to be moved to the front as they were set out very randomly and she knew I wouldn 't of like it. The owner refused to move them so she said well I know the bride would want them moved. He said no and my friend said 'they have paid alot of money for this and they want it to be perfect ' to which he replied 'no they have not '. I only found this out the day after as my friend did not want to upset me but now I know this I am so annoyed and actually upset that an established business like that can treat people this way!!!! The owner was also rude and very abrupt to one of the suppliers I used, which is not the first time she has experienced that kind of behaviour in that hotel. We spent a fortune at the hotel to have a perfect day and they did nothing but ruin it. Not to mention the amount of money they made out of our guests on the bat aswell. People like that should not be running a business and I would urge people to stay well away and do not waste your money. I feel everyone should know how unprofessional and rude they are. They clearly cannot cope with weddings and they should not have a licence to hold ceremony 's there!!!!! I didn 't complain to them in the end as my problem is with the owner and manager so there 's nothing they will do about it and I can 't exactly go to someone higher. This is the very reason they get away with treating people like this.
