I was here a few times, and always love it. everything I tried is delicious. at my last visit I found that the early roll was overcooked and extremely oily were almost dripping with oil, but they are usually not so. I also ordered a green curry filled with vegetables. the portion sizes are quite generous. What User doesn't like about The Green Room:
The service was really slow: out of my party of seven, everyone had basically finished eating before I received my order of pumpkin moon cake NT 160 for four pieces and pad thai NT 220 . I also thought it was quite pricey for what I got, partially from the relatively small portion size and partially from this nagging feeling that the flavor profiles were missing a key element. Good thing I didn't have to pay NT 130 f... View all feedback.
We went there on purpose but half an hour before closing time (9pm) they were fully closed (completely cleaned, dark and no customers). They said the kitchen really closes down before 8pm so you probably should get there by 7-7.30 if you want to eat there. Despite the fact that we had gone there on purpose and had no other place to go to, they didn't really help us find a solution. We ended up not being able to eat that evening, which was extremely disappointing. As a business, you can close whenever you want but you should be honest about it online and show more respect for your customers.
The fried rice was really good. I did think that generally it was quite overpriced for Taipei, but defo would recommend!
The kitchen closes super early so make sure you get there at least an hour and a half before closing, otherwise the options are extremely limited. Also very expensive
I’ve been a few times here, and always love it. All of the food I’ve tried is delicious. On my most recent visit I found that the spring rolls were overcooked and extremely oily (almost dripping with oil), but they aren’t normally like that. I also ordered a green curry, which was packed with vegetables. The portion sizes are definitely quite generous. I have a fairly large appetite but couldn’t finish everything, so I took left overs and was able to have a full second meal. The service needs a little work, in my experience, but the food is so amazing I will definitely keep going back.
Read more in this vegan Taipei guide: [hidden link] Green Room is one of the few places that serves Thai food and is all vegan. The place is also pretty, especially the front part of the restaurant which looks like a greenhouse. The food is great at this place. All the dishes I tried are delicious, including the yellow curry served in a coconut, crispy spring roll and kombucha shake. One complaint is that, unlike many other veg places in Taipei, they still use plastic straw for the drink at the time of visit. One thing to note is that the service is a bit slow here. Allocate more time if you plan to come here.
