Fred's Old Fashioned Burgers - Alpine

Wife and I have been taking the drive up to Alpine to eat at Fred's for years now. Sadly since they've reopened under new(er) management recently the staff seems.. a bit rough around the edges and menu less diverse. Also twice now I've called before taking the 45 minute drive up the hill and was told the dining room would be open only to get up there to find it locked with a sign that says drive thru only.
