"The accommodations were ok not a five star resort but very comfortable. The scene out the hotel was breathtaking. The other reason is the people they were so friendly and accommodating. We ate at the Lake View Diner and the food was excellent. Loved waking up to deer outside our widow"

"We stopped by Alturas for one night just as a pass through and was pleasantly surprised by the food at China Gourmet. Coming from LA where we have plenty of Chinese restaurants to choose from, we thought the taste and quality of China Gourmet rivaled that of those in LA. While the menu caters to Westerners (like orange chicken, general tsao's chicken), the dishes tasted pretty authentic to our Asian tastebuds. We ordered the curry, General Tsao's chicken, garlic fried fish and fired rice. The curry and fried fish was delicious, with generous garlic and jalapeno slices stirred fried with the extra crispy fish. The curry was rich and flavorful. general tsao chicken was crispy and sweet. Very yummy, better than expected!"
