If you're looking for authentic quality Portuguese food in the Alvor area, I definitely recommend Al Tapas. Full of locals... which to me, says it must be good?...

"I was in this caffe twice and I enjoy the experience. the owner is very friendly, polite and helpful. he always checks if u need something when eating is in order and even if eating lasts longer, he will...inform and see if it is acceptable for u a. at night I have a bacalhau à brás, that was amazing and the part was also great, I couldn't eat a desert, but I took it to the hotel. it was a traditional cake of algarve. astonishing. second night I came there only for the açaí and I can say it was one of the best açaís I eat outside of brasil. the prices are also good"

"My Boyfriend and I went here for dinner, he had been many times before and loved it. I had a beautiful starter, filo pastry filled with figs and goats cheese. I then had a steak portigus style which came with thinly sliced crisp potatoe and the house red wine which I realy enjoyed. The staff were friendly and professional and we sat upstairs inside in a lovely ambience. A good experiance."
