We had dinner at Pesce d’Oro after waiting for a bus to Amalfi that never came. A local man named PASQUALE appeared from nowhere and invited us to give the restaurant a try. We did and were so happy to have been given the suggestion to eat there. Both the food and service were excellent and there was also a view of the mountains and the sea from our table. Thank you Alessio, Martina Mamma! We felt so welcome right from the beginning. The whole team made sure you were comfortable and at home. The view from the rooms was picture perfect and breakfast in the lemon garden was stunning!
Amazing food and service. Best spaghetti alle vongole I’ve had for a long time. Very welcoming staff, Antonio made the dinner experience even better. Will be back when I’m down here on the coast. Grazie ragazzi.
We stayed 5 years ago It was just perfect for us ..4 persons..we had 2 Jr suites overlooking the water parking was right there and it was easy to get anywhere
Pasquale also became a friend quickly and was always available to take us somewhere or pick us up if the bus was running late or if we missed the bus. We kept his phone number and used it on several occasionale while in Amalfi. If you eat at Pesce D’oro, which I recommend, make sure to ask for Pasquale’s number and call him and he will take care of you as if you were family!!
Let me start by saying Alessio, Alessio, Alessio! This guy is amazing! I can't stress how wonderful the staff is and just how warm and caring they are. This is not something I would ever think to be top of the list when reviewing a hotel but they literally made all the difference. It's a family run operation with an incredible restaurant located right under the hotel. The hotel itself was very clean and recently updated. The views are spectacular as well and behind the hotel is this amazing tiered garden which runs halfway up the hillside. The garden is owned and operated by the hotel and used for all the fresh food at the restaurant. It really is an amazing place. The one thing I should point out is it's about 2 miles away from the Amalfi center so whenever you need to get anywhere you have to either rent a taxi which is $45 or take the bus. The bus runs regularly so not an issue but just something to think about especially during peak season when it can often be full with riders so they may not stop. Offseason I'm sure it's no problem at all. I would HIGHLY recommend if you stay at this hotel to either rent a car or scooters. It really will make all the difference in the world. Finally the beach is tiny and overcrowded during peak season so don't plan on using it during July and August. It's also about a 1/2 mile walk to get to the entrance of the steps then another 1/4 mile of steps to get down to the beach. This is NOT an easy trek so if you are planning on going here for the beach then this is not the right place for you. I hate even listing these negatives because the place really is magical. If you are looking for a romantic place and don't want to be in the center of all the activity then you can't go wrong with B&B Al Pesce d'Oro. There's something special about this place that I can't explain. If you decide to go you will understand what I mean. Highly recommend!
