Me and my husband live right next door, so we order from here occasionally. They've always gotten our orders right, and have even tossed in a little extra most times! We've never eaten in the restaurant itself, but only because we live so close. Thefood is always fresh and hot, and the coleslaw is really good! What Amy Lowe doesn't like about Sam's Southern Eatery Amarillo:
This was the first time we had eaten here, and I was very disappointed. We ordered the liver dinner, and the livers were way overcooked. It tasted like the oil was old and they were so dark they were almost black. We ordered onion rings, and they tastedlike the frozen onion rings you buy at the store. The fries were the same. The hushpuppies were flavorless. We ordered achocolate banana cake, and we got a store bough... View all feedback.

Sam's qualityis still better than most! One day we will have to eat inside to get the full experience, but for now, we are satisfied!

When you are expecting hand battered and homemade, and get frozen and overcooked it is very disappointing.
Food is super good which is the only reason for the two star. Our waitress was chewing on her nail while asking us what to drink. She then went and picked up lemons and set it on-top of our waters after handling the lids post chewing on her nail. Shethen went to the back and was wiping her face with her hands and came back with a cigarette behind her ear asking us what wewant to eat. We decided to leave after our appetite went away. I called later just to let the manager know why they lostcustomers. He asked if we paid the bill at least and I informed him we only got waters so there wasn?t a check. He then askedwhat I wanted him to do about it. I suggested to maybe go over hand hygiene with his employees and let them know what not to doin front of customers in a restaurant setting. Very disappointing. Will not be going back although the food was good since I?mnervous what the setting is in the kitchen where we cannot see.
The food here is amazing! Freshly prepared every time. We love family size meals from here, because I'm always trying to feed several people on a budget. The grilled chicken strips are so good! My kiddos favorite thing from here is the French friesdipped in their Sam's sauce, so good!
Average seafood restaurant. Staff not the friendliest ever. Waitress seemed to rush us. Pretty good variety. Plenty of choices. Lots of fried things. Needed a few more sides. I did not understand why okra was not a side choice. I had to get itas an appitizer. More than i needed and more expensive. The chicken tenders had a kick if you like that. Have jambalaya whichlots of people love. Not somewhere i would go again. Not too impressive to me.
