"We booked a table for six on Saturday night. Apart from us, just another table of eight such a quiet night as the restaurant can probably sit three times like that. Service was fast and friendly. Several appetizers, nets and desserts with generous portion sizes available, but while everything was well cooked, the net came a bit too cold. We feel that prices were pretty high compared to the plates. Also there were no potatoes or tomatoes before Columbus, so the selection of vegetables should be better adapted to the theme of the restaurant, with a little more imagination! Maybe time to update the menu? The fact that you can dress up in the costume is a funny item and we had a good evening overall. Thank you."

"We stayed in a local hotel which unfortunaly was not serving food for some unknown reason. Nevertheless, they directed us and other guests up to Le Provençal. It was only a short walk and in fact we were so pleased. Le Provençal is attached to the Confort Hotel (but I think run independently). We had a very friendly greeting and very attentive service from the manager. The food was very good a the lovely thing was that the manager told us we could have any combination of food we wanted 'anything possible '. We did have a lovely choice of starters from the buffet (very fresh) followed by the fish with rice (we laughed as the French family next to us insisted on fish and chips). It is not a big menu but there should be something for most people. Nice cosy atmosphere and an enjoyable experience."

"Lovely evening out with English friends. The new owners were very welcoming and accommodating. The suggestion that the wives would miss a starter and share their husband's was met without the bat of a Gallic eyelid so when the chef arrived with a small teaplate of the starter from the husband's portion but beautifully presented in its own right we were delighted-and as suspected the portion was of ample size to suit everyone. The main courses and desert were delicious-even the chips which accompanied a succulent steak -if they were frozen as is often the case they managed to hide it very well! Will definitely go again and be happy to recommend the place. Like buckmaster53 I cannot accept lindarichardcpr had a normal experience especially as a Sunday roast has not featured on the menu for a number of months as far as I know."
