What Tony P likes about The Chequers Inn:
Been here many times for a drink. It's a great pub. Low ceilings, dark rooms, open fires, ever changing guest beers, great beer garden. No music and no TV. Set in a beautiful village which is excellent starting and finishing point for many walks. I've never eaten here so can't comment, but the menu looks expensive. Beware though, not open on Sundays. Gorgeous pub in a gorgeous area. Its an old building covered in vines with a beautiful pub garden and a fair selection of cask ales. For a drink on a Saturday afternoon I'd highly recommend it. However, I went with my girlfriend's family for a meal, and this was where the place fell down. The price wasn't great, £17 for a steak which came with no vegetables or chips.
