"Great Harvest has turned into my go-to sandwich spot in Anchorage. There is nothing particularly exotic about any of the sandwiches. This is your typical roast beef and provolone, turkey and swiss kind of place. But the quality is what counts here. The sandwiches are consistently fresh and delicious, and the best part is after you order and while you wait, they offer you a slice of complimentary bread. I usually go with the cinnamon raisin, which is good enough by itself, but when butter is applied, it somehow gets even better. I suspect the complimentary bread is day-old bread which they are just trying to get rid of. Same goes for the hardening cookie they throw inside your sandwich bag. But it's all good. The turnaround time is usually quick. Even when the line is long I haven't waited more than 5 minutes to order. After placing my order, I haven't waited more than 10 minutes to receive. My only knock is the drink selection. It's not great. They could really benefit by offering some homemade iced tea or lemonade. Everything they sell is bottled. Be sure to inquire about the stamp card. I did not discover this until about my 10th visit, at which time I would have been entitled to a free sandwich. They don't advertise it, so ask."

"We came to this restaurant because it says on Google, they offer dunes in which was not the case, all orders have to go for. We ordered 2 gyro plates that were $15 each (which I should not pay so much for some good Greek food) they came with a Greek salad and some potatoes (Pretty Bland). Overall, the food was mediocre and really nothing to rave about unfortunately. It is sad if you expect a fresh gyro and instead hear that the microwave is beaten and the summer goes out. The Greek coffee I wanted to try because I read earlier reviews about how delicious it was and what not, absolutely not. The smell was very depressed and I couldn't even drink more than a sip. So overall not impressed."

"This restaurant is really good and a welcome addition to the Anchorage restaurant scene. I have been here about 10 times since the restaurant opened each time very pleased. Why do I like it. First the food is different and very good. I am from Chicago, and have had great German food from the likes of the Berghoff, Zum Deutschen Eck, and Heidelberger Fass all now closed I think. The food here approaches those. It is very different from the normal halibut and salmon served at most Anchorage restaurants. We like everything but often come on Saturday night for the Sauerbraten. Definitely like a cup of chicken soup to begin. I like the red cabbage, German potato salad, and spätzle for sides. Second, the prices are good. The Sauerbraten with sides is only $14. What a deal, when most Anchorage restaurants are charging $20 to $30 or more for and entry. Third, the beer is wonderful. German beer on tap including the grapefruit beer. It comes in different sizes and all reasonably priced. Samples are readily given and plenty to taste. The location in Mountain View is a turn off for some, but I never had any issue. Some comment about the service. Truthfully, it can be variable, but the beer usually comes quickly and that can take off the edge. Definitely a recommend for something different in Anchorage."

"So , want the best toasted sandwich , soup and a great beer Well it’s here ! . This is the place . Pick up a menu at the front door , try the tomato soup and toasted ham and cheese sandwich with an IPA ! Really great food , good prices and it’s local Note it’s not a pub so think sandwich place that serves beer with sports TV’s ! Just go !"
