"Walked in for a pint on a dreary Sunday and ended up enjoying 3 rounds with the staff and strangers seated at the bar. That 's the thing that will really get to you about Valley River. Yes, the pizza is top notch, easily the best pizza within an hours drive in any direction, Hell, maybe 2 hours. Yes, the beer is good, home brews and guest taps all rotate frequently to keep you entertained each time you come in. But the real winner is that every person on staff from the servers to the kitchen are as friendly as family, not the cheesy HI WE LOVE YOU plastic that 's so common place is tourism saturated industries, but that real, honest, sometimes tired and worn thin, but always welcoming smile that your best friends have for you when you 've wandered in like a sopping wet alley cat for the first time in a month. You 'll miss them, you know it 's just a bar , but you will miss them and you will come back to see them and feel at home again."
