Cosy and sweet cellar with food. The selection of a menu related to the use of seasonal products is excellent. Really excellent dishes. The chef succeeds in the (real) intention to bring out the taste of the products used without using sauces and spices. Large and good selection of wines. Good and friendly service. Beautiful kitchen, but overwhelmed waiters extremely long service 1h30 for a first course with forgotten to order from one of us ... expensive for this fact note that the server speaks only Italian and does not bother to translate the dishes offered only on the slate. "During our stays at Lake Maggiore we went to the Melograno a few times and were really delighted. So this year in May we decided to invite our Italian friends and partners to the Melograno and booked a table for 10 persons. The restaurant called us the day of our visit and asked us in an impertinent way to order the same dinner for everyone otherwise the kitchen would kind of break down!!! We answered that we don't want to force our guests and that we've always been there with at least 8 guests without being asked in this way. Later in the restaurant the waiter recommended us to order a variety of appetizers for all. We agreed grudgingly but asked him explicitely to bring not more than 4 or 5 portions because there were people who don't like to have appetizers. But, as was to be expected, he brought 10 large portions of starters with a lot of raw fish and things no one really liked. We ordered different main courses and desserts but unfortunately that very day nothing was really perfect or something special. The served food was rather average. Furthermore the waiter wasn't attentive or friendly. Our Italian guests were shocked and advised us never to go again to the Melograno. The next day we heard that during the night 4 persons had digestive problemes and some of them had to vomit. One friend got sick for days. What a pity!"
