Service is top-notch. 3 visits over 4 weeks' time frame, multiple wait staff remembered our drinks of choice on 2nd and 3rd visit. The food was excellent all 3 visits.... activities during the week like karaoke and music bingo. View all feedback.
What Liz S doesn't like about Cabaret Sports Grille:
The food was terrible I won't eat there again. I order3d their cheeseburger. It was overcooked and dried out and it didn't have the condiments on it that it set on the menu. They had American cheese instead of cheddar and the fries tasted like they were made yesterday and reheated. They were hard. View all feedback.
I tried the Southwestern burger and cheese curds at this restaurant. The Texas toast on the burger just seemed like regular sandwich bread to me, but I appreciated the variety of sauce options for the sides. The food tasted good overall, but I didn't find it visually appealing considering the price.
The restaurant has a spacious patio, making it a great spot to enjoy drinks outside during the summer. However, the food did not meet our expectations. After living in Ankeny for six years, we finally decided to try the food. We arrived around 5pm and found the atmosphere to be extremely loud, making it difficult to hear each other. I ordered the prime rib melt and was disappointed with both the appearance and taste. It did not resemble any prime rib I have had before. The au jus was also lacking in flavor. The table next to us had some delicious-looking boneless wings, so if we were to return, we would stick to chicken dishes.
We decided to try a new restaurant today while in the Ankeny area, looking for a good burger. After reading about Cabaret, a small sports bar near Cancun Mexican restaurant, we decided to give it a try. The bar has tables and chairs, no booths, and you can seat yourself. The bartender was friendly and helpful, suggesting some tap beers for us to try. I had a coffee stout by Peace Tree and a Pepsi, while my girlfriend stuck with water. The menu was larger than expected, and we ordered a 'Merica tenderloin with tater tots and a double-stacked Mush N Cheddar Melt burger with fries. The food arrived quickly and hot, with the sides fresh out of the fryer. The fries were similar to cottage fries, a favorite of mine. We both enjoyed our meals, with the burger and tenderloin cooked perfectly. Our bill came to $40 before tip. Overall, the good food and friendly service made it a great choice for us. It was a pleasant surprise during our visit.
Egg rolls and taco pizza was very good. Service was excellent!!! Kody was excellent and very professional. Super nice guy!
Still frozen in the middle The fried cauliflower would have been tasty except the outside was barely warm to the touch and the inside was cold and crispy! But it was more fresh than the salad that came next! I tried picking out the wilted black leaves and finally just gave up and put it aside. When my grilled chicken sandwich arrived I was more than a little nervous about it! Its one thing to have blackened lettuce and another to have raw or spoiled chicken. The chicken was cooked through and was actually tasty. If it hadn 't been for the desert dry thin Texas toast or dried out wonder bread it would 've been a decent sand which. But it was not to be, my poor waiter even forgot the mayonnaise and I had to choke down the dry toast. If you 're not at least half drunk by the time you order don 't bother eating!
