Dried by the " panoramic view" panel, we saw the terrace banished by the mistress of the place Dame Fortin, while it was deserted. The rest wasn't just for us to come. A meal worthy of a school canteen, from salami to white cheese for the incredible sum of 22 euros/pers. "Very friendly welcome and setting, regional menu and local products very well worked by a smiling and competent chef. Impeccable service with a smile. And a marbled ham to die for, a homemade aspic not bad at all and a delicious poison. In short, a good time and a place that we highly recommend. Ah, I almost forgot the wines, red and white, very well recommended. All at a very reasonable price, but this is just a very personal assessment!"

"I cannot say that there is anything wrong with Le Chateaubriant, I just did not find anything special about it. We had a quite ordinary chateaubriand for two with a side of vegetables, and while the restaurant was pleasant enough and the service fine, the meal was not memorable in any way. It could be that this was one of my first experiences with the local Charolais, before I understood that properly aged beef is rare in France. I find that beef here is served with a sauce more often than not, and it no doubt was here, too, but there are other restaurants in town that can give you the same steak for less money and with better saucing (for example, the sauce Bèarnaise at Tete Noire)."
