I've been here a couple of times now in the past 6 months or so, both times with my mother and grandma. The place is located on such a lovely cobbled street in the heart of the beautiful Appleby. The menu is really wide ranging and quite posh I tried my luck asking Mother to treat me to the £27 steak, but to no avail. Instead, I enjoyed a delightful Bakewell tart and coffee. Absolutely delicious food spoilt by an intransigent chef who insisted on charging £7 for a couple of slivers of salmon added to an avocado salsa on sourdough. This was exacerbated by the guy on the till insisting on talking over me when I complained about this. Overall great food but avoid unless you enjoy being ripped off. Left a very sour taste.
