A really cool place, completely outside but fortunately with shaded seating. Service a bit hesitant but very kind. Delicious ceviche in generous portions, and also very reasonable prices for drinks.
You probably have read many reviews about this place. Most of them must be about their cebiche but this time I want to write about the food they serve at night. On Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays the prepare chicken wings, hamburgers and pizzas. You really have to try their BBQ chicken wings. Probably the best in Arequipa. The hamburgers are really good too. It’s just a great place to eat before going dancing.
The place is lovely and staff are friendly. I ate chicharron de pescado which was very tasty. But, I was VERY thirsty afterwards so I think they use too much MSG. (Very common here in Peru, especially in restaurants). I drank more than a litre when I got home and I was still thirsty. Their lemonade with mint was delicious. The only bad thing now is that the next day I now have a bit of a bad stomach and running to the loo. Yuk. I would have preferred a smaller portion and paid less as it was a bit too much for one person.
I had been to El Cebillano several times in the old location and loved it. This time it was okay - but the menu has changed considerably and some of my old favourites are no longer available. My husband and I shared a platter of several different ceviches - no were outstanding. I'll look for a new favourite ceviche restaurant.
