"We are at Etive last night. Undoubtedly one of the best meals I've ever had in Oban. David was such an excellent host and John was making magic in the kitchen. I was driving so David came up with an imaginative and delicious non alcoholic cocktail for me alongside my husband's negroni. The chicken liver parfait was so delicate and the squid and chorizo starter was delicious and just the right size. 2 rib eye steaks cooked exactly as we wanted them, fabulously crunchy chips and sweet ripe tomatoes in the salad. David's recommendations of wine to go with each course were spot on. What a wonderful evening, thank you."

"A stunningly good (mainly) fish restaurant, with friendly and personable service from a great young team. And although the fish choices are everything you might hope and more, with a choice of market fresh specials in addition, nor are the non-fish choices treated as second class... one of our party enjoyed the best cooked duck he'd eaten in years. A very decent wine list too. A little gem for lovers of fish, and their friends. Highly recommended!"

"I had a full breakfast here. nice eating and really friendly people. if they are looking for somewhere to eat near the ferry terminal, I recommend very food from argyll at the pier. I will definitely visit again."

"We had a good experience at this restaurant. The food was mostly excellent (my oysters didn't compare favorably to others I've had in the US). The fish and chips were really nicely done, crisp without being overly breaded. My companion's salmon was beautifully cooked; most and tender. And the sticky toffee pudding, my goodness it was wonderful. It loses a star for the somewhat indifferent service (it could be I'm just an anxious American) and for the oysters."
