"You just can’t beat it… you can travel far and wide but Rice’s food and friendly service is top class…had a great dinner on Saturday evening … sea bass fillets, parsnip and carrot purée, spicy wedges and parsnip crisps… followed by delicious chocolate mouse in a tea cup…it all looked great as it arrived at the table, but tasted even better… thanks to Terry, Caolan and all the staff."

"Excellent value, good food and beautifully clean! Very friendly and helpful staff and quick service. Restaurant busy which was a good sign, but still quick service. Breakfast only when we went early on a Sunday, but my son had the 'Little Breakfast ' not so little! 2 sausages, bacon, egg, beans, soda bread and potato farl and I had a delicious cheese omelette with a great pile of freshly cooked mushrooms and cherry tomatoes on top. Plus toast and limitless tea we had 3 pots!! . Toilets spotless always a good sign! Can 't wait to go back and take others with me. A great find!"

"As long as I have been going to Monaghan you always got excellent chips because all the take away 's had to live up to the standard of firstly Tommy 's and later the Monte Carlo, now after having chips from the Monte Carlo the last three times have been terrible. The chips were re-heated end bits and totally overpriced at 5.60 for what was supposed to be a large bag. Also there are a lot of other overpriced items on the menu. I think Tommy would have something to say about the terrible chips been dished up today.I think you need to visit somewhere like Mullens in Blackrock to learn or re-learn what traditional fish and chips taste like. I know because of covid you have a one way system but the hand held mic which every customer must touch and then speak into is laughable when you take so many other precautions. I have noticed Tommys is closed and maybe this is one of the reasons your standards have dropped but they have been dropping for a long time....BRING BACK TOMMY 'S AND THE GENOA."
