Think of Panera, only a bit different and much cooler. McAlister's Deli is just that. The service is hit or miss though depending on the time of day you go and who might be working. Also, the bread bowls differ from day to day. My husband and I went in for lunch awhile back and the bread bowl was not the same type of fluffy sourdough bread. my father ordered a garden fresh turkey sandwich, 2 obsttassen, a reuben, a four cheese flour, a mcallisters club wrap and a gallon brombeertee. when we got our food back, the garden fresh turkey sandwich no greens, it was just cheese and truthahn. the fruit cups are tiny and have hardly any fruit in them.
