"Instead of a food truck, it’s a food boat that used to be a salmon fishing boat. Great reuse of materials. They’ve been in business a long time and are on a street with free parking. Be aware as I wasn’t, that it’s cash only and the fish is tuna, not the usual cod or haddock. If one doesn’t know this, they’ll think something is off or dry about the fish but for tuna, it was actually really good though I still prefer cod or haddock as my fish for fish n chips. These are more like fried tuna chunks similar to a very large chicken nugget. The small portion is three pieces for $10. I liked the batter and the tartar sauce that came with it. The chips are steak fries which is actually the norm in the UK but in the UK, pubs and restaurants by the coast now offer fries as an option. I’m not a huge fan of thick steak fries and wish there was another option like coleslaw."

"Astoria Coffeehouse Bistro surprised us with our favorite meal while vacationing on the Oregon coast. Check their Facebook page for most recent menu options. But looks like they consistently have several vegan options. We enjoyed large sautéed tempeh tacos with slaw, salsa, avocado with sides of coconut purple rice and a black bean corn salad plus a giant vegan chocolate cupcake for dessert! Excellent flavors and portions, we wish we’d come here sooner! Will definitely be back."

"This was our second visit to the Silver Salmon, and the experience was even better than the first. The food was good and the service was outstanding. I was surprised that the bar used tiny olives in their martinis, and mentioned it to the waitress (good bars use at least queen olives; this place had those tiny pimento-stuffed ones). We told her how we like the big olives stuffed with garlic, jalapeno, or blue cheese. Though she was unable to do anything about the size of the olives, she did hand-stuff five of them with blue cheese for my next drink. No server has ever done that before (and yes, it did boost her tip). Though we did eventually order entrees, we spent time enjoyed several appetizers, and the waitress didn't try to hurry us into ordering, and appeared at our table with the perfect frequency (not too often, not too rarely). I can cook fairly well, and visit restaurants for dishes I can't make, enjoyable ambiance, and good service. The Silver Salmon has all three, and that's why we'll return."

"Very clean, spacious, and quiet. Owners are very friendly and happy to answer questions. Staff is always professional and friendly. Drinks are excellent and fresh-made. Haven't had everything on the menu, but fajitas, pollo crema, taco salad, and birria tacos are excellent! The birria tacos are the best in the area. Perfectly crisp tortillas. The broth is amazing, I drink the rest of it on the side."
