really enjoyed. if I had 5 stars. tere are not many vegan options, but I like that sometimes. saves you a brain. btw, the spiciness is on the point. I thought they might have tolerated it a bit, but I felt the heat, and you get free water View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Taqueria Maya:
3 stars for the Veg and V signs but it was impossible to understand whether anything besides the salsas were vegan. Extras were labelled vegetarian, one main filling (mushrooms) as well. It was busy, so I felt uncomfortable starting a picky conversation about what each of the four offerings was made of etc. Easier to stroll on.
Surprisingly good Mexican food in Athens!! Staff is incredibly welcoming and accommodating, even to large groups. They offer a wide variety of taco fillings — my favorites were the fish, small shrimps, and carnitas. They also sell multiple flavors of Jarritos, which was a real treat on a hot day!
Authentic little taco joint in the heart of Athens. Serving tacos con pollo/pork carnitas/ lamb/ veal/sweet potatoes with chorizo etc. Tacos were supreme!! Burritos were average. The service is really quick, staff is attentive, prices are reasonable!! Well done!!
Two visits so far) two great experiences! By far the best service we've received in Athens the staff is very attentive! They can comfortably seat about 25 people, prices are good $7ish for most items on the menu), and the value is great. Fresh looking and tasting ingredients, a little bigger than average portions...and legit Mexican flavors. We'll be back again)!
Obsessed with this place! I went back twice during my stay in Athens!!! Amazing burrito and burrito bowl! Lovely service too. Highly recommend going if you’re into Mexican food!
I love this restaurant. eating is just delicious. I had problems ordering the tacos (3 different) and could not have told them what was my favorite! I also had fresh apple juice. the staff was very helpful attentive and friendly. highly recommended
