OMG! That's the BOMB! Our first time here and Holy Cow! I had the 2pc chicken and fish meal(2 pieces chicken, 2 pieces fish, fries, and Koleslaw, 2 hushpuppies, with a big pepsi) woman had the Deluxe Seafood Platter meal(2 in-shell crab cake, 2 pieces fish, 7 pieces butterfly shrimp, fries, coleslaw and 2 hushpuppies with a large Mt. few). What J doesn't like about Captain D's:
The food (fish, shrimp, fries was good. Not hot, but I microwaved it and it was fine. The flavor was good. I would definitely eat here again. Can't beat the price for seafood. The only problem I had was with the young woman (dark hair, nose ring who took my order. (This was around 7:30pm on 11/24. She needs some training. "Good lunch in downtown Athens. A nice selection of cold and hot sandwiches, made on order, with chips and drink at reasonable prices. Ice cream in cup or cone soft serve and through the shovel. Service can be quite slow when they are overcrowded (which they are usually for lunch), but the environment is relaxing so order and relax while you wait. When they eat, they even take it to your table! Picky's recommendation: definitely worth a stop when you leave town.
