Mooney's - Athens

Had a great dinner here, I had taco salad and hubby had burger and fries. The burger was handmade and cooked as ordered to perfection, the taco salad was so good, lots of meat!! of course we had to have some lobster mac and cheese to share and take home, it was delicious as usual. Service was very good, attentive and pleasant. We will be back. Thank you.

Will never go back. Ordered a cheese steak, with sauteed onions and green peppers and the bun toasted. Picked it up, opened it when we were home, and it had lettuce and tomato on it. Called them, took it back, got a new one. My wife picked it up, and what did we get, steak on a cold bun, not toasted. One piece of small cheese, not even melted. More mayonnaise and there was meat. The green peppers were cold, crunchy and not sauteed, and I found only one small piece of an onion on mine. Whoever made this needs to be fired, and they need to learn how to how to make a cheese steak. It's ridiculous when you take an order back and they still screw up the second one and the place was dead tonight so there's no excuse that they were overwhelmed. Just plain lazy and lack of customer care. I only ate it because I was hungry and we didn't want to go back out a third time.

I was really glad that I chose this place for Friday Fish Fry! First of all, I want to say that my server, Lexie made this such an enjoyable experience, and she is the reason I will keep coming back. Anybody who stops in, make sure you ask for Lexie to be your server. Second of all, the meal was great! The fish was the size of a shark! Everything on the platter was so tasty. You really do get a lot of value for your money. I will be back again and again for Lexie and fish fry! Everybody should know what a great place this is. Of course, I keep coming back, due to the awesome food and the awesome staff. Everything they say about Mooney's mac and cheese is true. Another standout on their menu is their Stuffed Pepper Burger! This burger has so much flavor! That with an order of their fries, and you are set! I will keep trying other yummy items on their menu!

Love the atmosphere, we went at a time we thought would be overcrowded and it wasn?t. Our waitress wasn?t really around for any of our service but other girls helped out and made sure we got our drinks and stuff which took unusually long. There wasn?t many people in at the time so we were confused. But she was very polite and friendly. We are easy going people so it wasn?t a big deal, we didn?t know what was going on behind the scenes. Second time being here and each time was not disappointed! We keep trying all the different kinds of Mac and cheese and they are absolutely mouth watering! My favorite so far is definitely the lobster Mac and cheese. The portions are massive! Definitely worth the price and still good headed up. Even though we live closer to another location we still prefer this one and will be coming back!

Excellent food and even better service. Both times we went, our server was amazing. This place is a must!!!
