We made reservations, and we were there in ample time before our concert at State Farm Arena. We ordered our food, and after waiting about minutes, our server informed us that the kitchen was backed up and that it would be at least more minutes before our food âmightâ come out (a salad and burger). What Elda Friesen doesn't like about Dantanna's Downtown:
Most of us wanted ribeyes only to learn none were available. Many of us ordered baked potatoes but mashed were served (without notice) since no baked potatoes were available. A few of us ordered wine only to learn they didn't have what we selected off the menu. The steaks came out at least a temperature more than requested. Too much time was passing to send them back. The food was not hot and not in the right proportions. Service was a bit slow. Seating was very expedient.
Food was substandard. I ordered the calamari and the Caesar salad. The calamari was not crispy as any fried food should be. The salad was made with some lettuce that I could not recognize. Traditionally, Caesar salad is made with romaine lettuce. The best part of the evening was the service which was not so stellar. We felt rushed even after mentioning that we were not in a rush to order. All in all the experience was a C at best

Given that it was now nearly an hour until the concert, and there would be an estimated security line to get into the arena, we canceled our food order, paid for the drinks we had and left without dinner. Very disappointing that the restaurant could t service their customers. Itâs not as if this was the first concert or event next door.

Quick service, delicious food, and very friendly service from Angie! Have the blue crab claws and shrimp appetizer-blackened. We wish we had ordered two!
