"Great food and coffee, make sure you get here early to beat the brunch crowd. Highly recommend the CB Big Breakfast (especially after a 7km walk around the peninsula). Coffee is great, and as an added bonus, one of the best chocolate/confectionery stores joined by a sliding door, very dangerous for those sweet tooth’s out there. Recommended"

"Drove to Matakana on a lazy Sunday. The town can get a bit quiet when the markets aren't up and honestly the chilled vibe is quite refreshing Popped here for a lunch spot. Ordered the fish and chips along with a lager. Honestly a very solid fish and chips. Fish was fresh and the batter was herby which was a nice shake."

"We held a surprise birthday party for my sister at The Bridge House and it was a great success. The food and service were excellent. There weren't charges for the private room or for us bringing in a cake. All the guests were very complimentary."

"Puhoi Pub is a great stop for a bite to eat on the way up to Northland, and it regularly has a band playing in the weekend’s My partner and I had a Cheese Bacon Burger and chips and it was a beautiful homemade patty with a big rasher of bacon and fresh lettuce and sliced tomatoes. The chips were crinkle cut and cooked to perfection. There is plenty of BBQ tables all with large market umbrellas for shade. The service was excellent and the old decor was like stepping back to the 1800s What I found awesome was the quests would write on a currency note from NZ or from the country they were from and pin it to the inside walls of the pub soo cool"
