My wife and I decided to get away from San Antonio to spend someplace quiet and relax poolside for a weekend. Having Knotty Deck and Bar at the Renaissance Hotel was convenient and great. Food was very good and a good sized menu. Our first meal took a while and the fries were cold. Asked for new fries and by the time we got them we were almost done with the meal. All other meals and services were great. View all feedback.
What Henry B doesn't like about Treehouse Kitchen Knotty Renaissance Austin:
I arrived after a long morning of travel needing something but not sure what. The lunch menu had a bit of everything, although many items were identical to the dinner menu. I am not a big lunch eater, so I decided to have the tortilla soup and the shishito peppers. The soup was delicious rich broth, tender chicken (with just a hint of smokiness) but not much heat. The shishito peppers were a bit wilted and listless a... View all feedback.

Not sure if this restaurant is understaffed or the waitress was new, but the service was HORRIBLE. My hubby and I ate here twice this weekend as this restaurant was located in the same hotel where we stayed for a marriage retreat. Both times it took forever to get our meals. However, the second visit was the worst. Our waitress “Ruth” lacked situational awareness and did not even realize we had not gotten our meal (a burger and fish Tacos) until after 45 minutes of us patiently waiting. Six tables got their meals before us and they were seated way after we were. We honestly think she forgot to put our order in, but instead of admitting the mistake, she blamed it on the kitchen. It took us talking to the manager to finally get our food. He was kind enough to not charge us for our meal which was very thoughtful of him, but the principle of us having to rush to eat our meal to make it back to the retreat was still an inconvenience. We hope this waitress is retrained so nobody has to experience such a frustrating experience.
Do not waste your money or your time.Unless: you would like to grab your own app plates and your own straws. Go here if you want to wait 30 minutes for your drink to arrive. And it 'll be AFTER your food arrives too.Be ready to be told it 's super packed when the dining room is half empty.Also make sure you fully intercept a human in order to get their attention because there is zero proactivity at this establishment.Be ready to be handed your check in the middle of your meal because they are so busy. But conveniently it is picked up within 5 minutes of you putting your method of payment on the check book.If you want McDonalds service for 10x the price, this is the best place to go. Enjoy.
Amazing service and even better food! It's extremely convenient to eat here when staying at the hotel. There is plenty of seating, as well as bar seating, and an entire outdoor deck that has great views. Everything about this place was 5 stars. I would definitely come here again even if not staying at the hotel.Food: 5/5
I had read so many great things about the food and the service here, and since I am going to be moving on the side of town for both work and personal, I thought why not check it out.And besides, I do love breakfast and brunch and all things food. Especially eggs. I went here this weekend and had the eggs Benedict and it was cooked absolutely perfectly, the hollandaise sauce was perfectly seasoned and thickened and the eggs were cooked to perfection.... The service, however was not so great, it was disappointing. I was barely acknowledged, my drink was empty most of the time and the only time which I was spoken to was when asking about my order, an attempt at upselling my order a few times (which I would have taken the suggestions if I were being taken care of properly and if I wanted the food bill to be charged to my room or not.It was a pretty short, impersonal and cold transactional interaction.There was no hi how are you today, miss? Or... how was your food? How is your day? How are you enjoying this beautiful Sunday morning?No none of that.But besides all that, The atmosphere was really very nice and you could look below and see the travelers walk down the stairs and there was a big screen coffee area in the lobby and it was a nice ambiance about the place and the way it was set up.I really enjoyed the food, and overall it was decent, I just wished the service would have been a bit better, I 'm a pretty easy going and easy to please customer too.And if they would have been busy then, I would not have taken a star off at all, but there was only three tables in the whole restaurant.I will give it another chance but for now it 'll be a while before I visit because, let 's face that you can have eggs benedict anywhere and you really go there for the experience in the service, right?Overall the experience was pretty good, although it could be better.I will definitely give it another try since it is in a great location and I like the atmosphere and the food especially was worth a second shot, maybe next time I will come when they are really busy, lol. ;
