A beautiful small restaurant brilliantly situated in the cool shadow of the Cathedral, and on a charming cobbled street.

"We had a very nice meal at Le Chateaubriant. We had one set menu (fantastic veal risotto and an OK sirloin) and one a la carte (escargots, delicious buttery and garlicy as to be expected! and one boeuf which was superb). We sat outside because...the decor inside looked a little gloomy and the weather was nice. The staff were very very good. Would definitely go back if i want a hearty Burgundy meal!"

"Given a previous review which was from a very dissatisfied customer, I was very unsure of eating here BUT I was so glad that we had an evening meal. We arrived at a local campsite and asked the owner if she could suggest a good restaurant.This is the place she recommended and having reserved a table,I then read 'Trip advisor ' latest review about the restaurant. We decided to take a chance.The chef appeared very young and greeted us warmly making every effort to converse with us in English..as I confess..my French is minimal. Between the two of us we muddled through the menu. He was really helpful and charming. The meal was well presented and plentiful..infact the three courses were more than enough. Our waitress was efficient attentive and she to, made every effort to talk to us in English and helped me to understand the French menu. Infact the whole evening turned out to be A . The meal with a glass of wine came to about 50e. for starter,main dessert for the two of us. The food was fresh,well flavoured delicious,and I 'd certainly eat at the restaurant again."

"We had dinner there 6 times in a row, as we stayed in their little hotel upstairs. It's a family business, with a very enthusiastic cook and very friendly, smiling staff. Although the choice is restricted due to Covid (one menu per day, only at dinner time), it was delicious each time a d if you don't like some part of the menu, you can ask them to change it, they are open to requests). The menu includes an entrée, the main course, then cheeses and dessert. Yummy local fromage blanc, a must try. The staff speaks English and Dutch and the know how to speak simple and clear French to you if they see that you make an effort to speak French but you're not quite fluent. Dogs allowed. Prior reservations recommended, as they tend to be full in the evenings. And once again delicious, home made food."
