What Nicole Herzog likes about The Avoca Hotel:
Quirky little pub with a nice atmosphere. Dinner was delicious, pork snitzel with gravy and slaw, and couldn’t fault. Limited menu but they had a specials board. Nice place to visit ! Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.

What DPK doesn't like about The Avoca Hotel:
Great looking Old pub, the Parma was nice but it was definitely one of the smallest parmas I've ever been served at an Australian pub. Glad they serve Guinness on tap Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Chicken Parmigiana Parking space: Plenty of parking View all feedback.

"This place is impressive. All prepared on the premises by the owner. Staffed today (16th Jan 21) by a couple of fun, sassy, ladies who know their way around a kitchen. I ordered up big on gluten free items because I'm not good on the gluten. They had a whole separate display cabinet for GF. 1st I had the Pepper steak pie. The pastry was wonderful and the filling had been made with love, flavour and time . I think it was the best pie I have ever had. I also demolished an orange and almond cake and a lemon curd tart. The tart was particularly good. They even had lactose free milk for my latte. There is a spacious dining area as well that I wasn't expecting. I was surprised to see lots of other GF items on the menu. There were plenty of tables out the front and an unusual $1 Covid cleaning charge to sit down. I see some diners have whined about that but the signs are clear and it is only a dollar. It costs money to wait tables and a user pay system for people to clean up after you isn't unfair. This is not your average bakery in a far flung rural farming community."

"Just got a couple pepper beef pies and they were straight out of the oven, nice and deep crust with and free sauce packets. How it should be."
