"Had a very nice breakfast here with colleagues on the way to a funeral. The food was beautifully done and the waitress was very helpful (not sure if her name but I think she had a South African accent). Lovely surroundings and cute tea cosy on the teapots!"

"Perfect small tea room! a table for 7 booked, including small child on bank holiday Monday and the staff could not have been more helpful. scones and cakes are amazing and beautiful sandwiches for small. my daughter loved her huge milkshake and we enjoyed a delicious cup of loose leaf tea. will be returning"

"This was the first visit for a special occasion. the staff are very friendly and the service is fantastic when a little rushed. the quality of the food was error-free and all made for a very pleasant evening. we would certainly eat more often there if it were not the prices that I think most of us are too high. even with the £20 eating rabatt it was still £80 for two of us with 2 curses, 1 beer and 1 bottle of the cheapest weinouch!"

"The posh restaurant in the Stoke by Naylands Resort is supposed (and priced) to be fine dining . However, the chicken dish served this evening was more bas cuisine than haute . You really shouldn 't have to fight with a chicken breast or cut away inedible dry bits in order to eat it. But that 's what occurred. Notable that there was not a hint of apology when this was mentioned to the serving staff. Unsatisfactory on several counts. Made for a disappointing evening despite the lovely company..."

"My friend ordered the lamb, but had to send it back because it was cold and hard. the cake was tasty, but the vegetables were overcooked and not good. the burger was dry. they seemed to be very short staff, as there was only one waiter and he was away from his feet, so the service was not good. very too expensive for what it is. disappointed"

"A very enjoyable meal in this beautiful and historic pub, under new management. Excellent fish and chips, and a superb iberico pork chop with fried duck egg and pineapple salsa. Would have loved to try a pud, but just couldn't find room. All the other dishes we saw coming out to diners looked spot on too. We would definitely return when next in the area."

"Absolutely amazing experience today! The food was good, the prices very reasonable but the service was utterly outstanding. Thea welcomed myself and my toddler, was very accomodating of allergies and went out of her way to help us to the table I requested, including helping me lift the buggy. She made sure my hungry toddler was served almost immediately and was so kind and thoughtful that the whole experience was stress free and I felt very well looked after. I will be definitely going back next time I'm in Sudbury and I hope that Thea is working then too!"
