"Short arrival after shopping in the spa town, the cozy restaurant in front of the Bad Wörishofer Kurhaus is particularly suitable. In sunny weather you can hardly find a place in the cosy beer garden under chestnuts. We preferred a table at the restaurant for lunch. As always, crust roasts and salad plate have tasted very well here."

"Wenn sie über Kaufbeuren und die nähere Umgebung als Gast in dieser Stadt etwas erfahren wollen, dann ist der DIcke Hund sicher die richtige Anlaufstelle. Denn hier trifft sich ab 18:00 Jung und Alt, Arm und Reich , Gebildeter oder "Normalbürger " ....und .... alle sind sie ansprechbar. Hier ist es wie in Köln, man spricht die Leute einfach an und schon ist man mittendrin, was für das Allgäu nicht so selbstverständlich ist. Der lange Tresen , die vielen guten verschiedenen Biersorten und unglaublich viele Whiskey sorten bietet der Wirt, ein Verschnitt von Johnny Winter und Frank Zappa an. Und genauso ist auch die Musik, die leise den Geräuschpegel unterstreicht , der sich im alten historischen Kreuzgewölbe aufbaut wenn das Lokal voll ist. Selbstverständlich bietet Heinz, so heißt der Wirt und seine charmante Frau eine sehr gute typische Bistro Speisekarte an, die bis 22:00 Uhr auf jeden Fall in Anspruch genommen werden kann. Und darauf befinden sich "Schmankerl" wie z. Bsp. ein irseer Wurstsalat, div. Baguettes und immer ein selbst gemachtes Chilli con Carne. Gute Rotweine runden das ganze ab und der Service ist ausgezeichnet und sehr persönlich. Ich hab immer meinen Spaß und mein Vergnügen in dieser Kneipe, dem Dicken Hund .... ist das nicht ein dicker Hund ?"
