We stumbled randomly on Roca Verde, and ended here for our last 6 days in Costa Rica we loved the hotel, and could have stayed for months; it is on a beautiful sandy beach, with rocky outcrops, which is almost private it at the extreme end of the Dominical beach, but miles away. What User doesn't like about Roca Verde:
The dogs (3) in the restaurant were menacing for anyone who came from the staff without correction. There is a vineyard on a loud quas playing the beach cop with an attitude problem. He forces nonsense because he is not sitting on the rock with respectful commands, no enquiries. I saw him screaming at a guy who played a flute on a rock and then raised in a woman's face over her swimsuit. Let this clown go so it can b... View all feedback.

The restaurant/bar is close to a shame. It used to be a fun place. It looks like a book club with classical music. So sad!

The hotel is very chilled and because the restaurant is not open, guests can use the kitchen, and there was a great feeling of community. There is also a beautiful pool and Mike that belongs to the hotel was a perfect host.
Great location and surfing is the best! The restaurant hosted a discotech on Saturday night and its food is amazing.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. No TV, which was great. The location is amazing, right on an almost private beach with soft sand and small waves. But the hotel part is tucked into the jungle a little and feels isolated and private too. The pool is so nice. The restaurant is currently closed due to COVID but there is free coffee all day and you can use the fridge and microwave as needed in the kitchen and there is a great restaurant right next door where you can eat in or get take out. They only take cash here which was ok with me. The town is a 10 15 minute walk away along the beach so Roca Verde is close to dominical but far enough away to be more quiet and make you feel like no one else is around. Call or email for the best price, no online booking. Hardly anyone has been here for my entire stay, it's been dreamy. Strong WiFi, great for remote work.
