We stayed here a couple of weeks ago and what a lovely stay! The staff let us check in early and we stayed in the honeymoon suite! The room was beautiful, spacious and so comfortable. Big windows that allowed the beautiful sunlight to shine through. Nothing was a bother for the staff and they were helpful in every way. Thank you! Breakfast was delicious too! What forrestwilson doesn't like about Belmont:
Banbridge on a Sunday at lunch we called to the Belmont Hotel not having a booking we ate in the bar, roast beef for 2 fresh veg and potatoes and the beef was good next time we will book to eat in restaurant although menu was the same View all feedback.
We decided to stay overnight and thought The Belmont would be a nice change. The room was clean, although there were some reviews mentioning the small bathroom. It is indeed small, but it is only for showering, not where you actually stay. The bed was comfortable and the evening dinner was really lovely. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere was good, not noisy, and we would be happy to return again.
I recently celebrated my son's 18th birthday at the cellar bar, where we enjoyed some family drinks and chats in the newly renovated bar. The staff was incredibly attentive and even surprised my son with a dessert topped with a candle. It had a lovely family-friendly atmosphere.
This small hotel located on the outskirts of town, just off the A1 highway, is a hidden gem. The restaurant and event rooms upstairs are designed in a period style that matches the main house. The hotel exudes a simple and charming old-fashioned ambience. The food is delicious, offering a mix of modern and traditional dishes at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and eager to please, particularly Darren at reception who seems knowledgeable and capable of promoting the hotel on social media. It would be wonderful to see the secondary historical house on the property restored for additional guest rooms.
Food was quick at coming out we got a steak sandwich felt the crispy onions very salty steak was lovely other than the dish was bit to much salt, also got salmon and garlic fries salmon was lovely I take it wasn't fresh it was like frozen salmon defrosted but the garlic fries wasn't that great too much margarine sitting in it and wasn't melted through the chips couldn't eat them
The hotel building and grounds are nice and the staff are very pleasant. We stayed in room 4, which was a superior room. The room decor was good and the bed was comfortable. The carpet however, was very heavily soiled in places, which was a little off putting. This was advertised as £140 for superior bed, breakfast and dinner. This price is a little misleading as it doesn’t actually include dinner, but a £30 restaurant credit £15 each) The food was only ok, nothing special, especially with a price tag of £32 for a steak. We definitely have had a lot better. Breakfast was also only ok. Orange juice was concentrated and watery, cooked breakfast had a very oily taste. Restaurant staff member didn’t return to check on us after it was served so didn’t have the opportunity to bring it to her attention. All in all, we had an ok stay but I wouldn’t be rushing back to stay here again.
