"This is the place to go for lobster! Skip Bar Harbor’s ridiculously overpriced options and get fresh, delicious lobster dishes at Downeast Lobster Pound! We got a single steamer lobster, a lobster roll, and the New England clam chowder. Everything was amazing and super fresh. They pre crack the steamer lobsters for you, which made it pretty easy to get all the meat out without too much fuss or mess. The clam chowder was also very tasty they hit that perfect consistency of thick and creamy without it being gloopy or too heavy. Be aware this is a no frills place. If you’re looking for cozy or chic dining, go to Bar Harbor. You place your order at the counter and then go sit until your food is ready to pick up. There is a nice open/partially wind shielded upstairs deck as well as a little inside area. It was plenty comfortable to eat and hang out."
