The food was interesting except for the thick potatoe fries! Actually, it was too much food for 1 person and even the price worked out to 24-28 euro! Since I had tried tapas all week, that one last night at Barcelona was supposed to be a light supper (11 pm) but, to my surprise the dishes were for 2. What Héctor Ayala doesn't like about Borrell:
After leaving the Plaza de Espana, which has wonderful buildings my partner and I headed along the Avenue del Parrellel and encountered this poor excuse for a Spanish eaterie. The service was good but that was the only redeeming feature. The bread was stale, the chorizo was tough, the calamares was gritty(even a local man complained about this!! and the patatas bravas was tired. Very disappointing. View all feedback.
