What Jill M likes about Caffe Capretz:
Visited on a day of torrential rain in beautiful Barga. We stopped here on way back down from the Duomo. Our waiter Mattio was so friendly and told us about the local specialties. We even had espresso with the local liqueur! Warmed the cockles! Had the most delicious pumpkin with a cream cheese- buttata? To die for. A beautiful place. A must stop when you visit Barga. What Marc E doesn't like about Caffe Capretz:
The food is moderate and overpriced, if you take a look what is served and the amount which is charged. The staff is not that friendly as well. The restaurant looks nice, but I won't recommend it. View all feedback.

Very good food. Nice people. Try the mozarella with tomatoes, tacos, shrimps and charcuteri. It was very good. Nice prices.

"No menu. Whatever they decide to cook that night is described by Alessandro. So helpful and patient. Between my little Italian and Alessandro's little English and a few hand gestures we managed to communicate and my group and I ate authentic fresh traditional food. Would highly recommend! "We were a family of 9, 6 adults, a 12 year old, 4 year old and 12 month old. The service, food and restaurant itself were all excellent. The waiter was very friendly, spoke relatively good English and advised on dishes etc. We received a small glass of Prosecco to start courtesy of the restaurant. A variety of food dishes were picked by the group and no one was disappointed. My 12 year old got the authentic burgher (no roll) and the meat was to die for. I had truffle pasta to start which was delicious and the Norwegian cod. Thoroughly recommend as a restaurant to visit if you are in the area. This is outside the walls of the city."
